Frequently Asked Questions

Hello there:

I hope I can help you by answering some questions and providing information. 

I’m happy to share with you a little bit about me: the processes, a few  writing samples, and other details to help you. 

To get started, I’ve included a list of the most common questions people ask:

Q: “Do you have experience in my field?”

A. Yes. I worked in a number of fields including law, education, healthcare and personal development.  

I’ve formal post-graduate education and specialized copywriting training. I’ve worked as a librarian and as a researcher, a trainer and facilitator.  And, I ran my own coaching practice for seven years. 

Strangely, these seemingly diverse subjects have intertwined into what I do as a writer. I’ve been where you are. I understand what you do. I know how much time it takes to create the  materials you need.

Put those pieces together and you see there’s lots of experience behind my work. This benefits you immediately. As mentioned, you save time (and money) because not as much time is needed to bring me up to speed in your practice. 

Q: “What kind of assignments do you handle?”

A:    I love writing material for social media. I develop content easily adapted for multiple purposes (e.g. sales letters, blogs, video scripts, case studies).  I believe in consistency in your messaging to support your personal style. How you present your ‘virtual’ self is important to your current and future clients.  

Q. “I already have a website and a bunch of articles. I kinda like them but… I’m not sure if I should use them? Do you offer consulting services?”

A:    Absolutely. The material you’re using now whether it’s for your website or blog, or newsletters or ezines can be reviewed and evaluated with a thorough checklist. This review shines the spotlight on the ‘good stuff’ and highlights opportunities to improve, or update, the material.

What does that mean to your business? You have to be ‘found’ through search engines.

So,  when you keep your information current and interesting, when you show your expertise, and when you do this regularly, search engines will find you. That means future clients can find you, and be impressed!

That’s a great thing to accomplish to build your client base, right?

Q: “What are your rates?”

A:    For any request, just let me know what kind of assignment you have in mind and I’ll give you a quote.  For your easy reference, I’ve attached a basic rate sheet giving typical rates for a variety of projects.

If we agree to work together, I’ll review the payment schedule with you. 

Q: “OK, let’s say we to work together. How much time do you need to get the assignment done?”

A:    In most cases, assignments take 3-5 weeks after the initial discussion. 

Here’s why. Professional work takes time. It’s researching (lots) and writing. 

Usually, we start with a conversation to discuss your needs. It includes some brainstorming. It’s creative and practical. 

Then, I’ll ask to review what you already have in place –  any material you’re using or have used in the past. I’ll find out what you liked and didn’t like. I’ll ask you about your short- and long-term goals for the work we are doing together. When I complete those research pieces, the writing begins.  The research lets me understand you and your intentions.

And, we both know life is unpredictable. Sometimes you might need a quicker turnaround time. Should that happen, please let me know the date by which you must receive it.  Due to prior commitments, I might not be able to accept an urgent assignment.

However, if I accept the assignment, I guarantee the final copy will be delivered to you by the deadline we’ve agreed to.

Q: “Well, what happens if I want changes to the final copy?”

A:    It’s very simple. 

First, there are checkpoints and reviews throughout the process. This is to ensure everything is to your specification. And if this process is new for you, it can give you extra reassurance that your needs are identified, and your questions answered. 

If, after all this, you still need a revision, I offer you a 21-business days  to tell me what you’d like revised with some guidelines, I’ll make the changes.

And, as long as the revisions are not based on a change in the assignment, the revisions are included in the fee we agreed to.

My work is guaranteed. If you’re not 100% satisfied after this last revision, I’ll revise the assignment according to your specific guidelines at my expense.

Q: “What’s the best way to get in touch with you?”

A:    You can do it by phone (306-737-5467) during typical business hours which are 10:00 – 15:00 CST Tuesday through Saturday or by email at cccopywriter@cherylcharron.com. Both my voicemail and email are private and confidential.

One last note, when I’m working for you, I’m focused on you. I want you to be successful.
